Summer of Colors

This summer was a summer to remember! I've grown a lot as a person. When this was all new to me, I remember being absolutely horrified asking a member 'what are you working on?' And, now, I'm not afraid to ask, or help members with programs, even if I'm not entirely familiar with them, such as Tinkercad or Photoshop. I've learned how to work with the 3D printer, and get more familiar with layers in Illustrator, as well as it's functions and capabilities. I learned when to take a step back when a kid didn't want to be bothered, and when to help inspire kids who had a creative block. I was mostly engaged on Thursdays, where I helped with the workshop, or help people get familiar with Illustrator and the illustration tablet. Other times, I was helping people out in the studio, and even getting on the mic along with the other members! My goal at the beginning of this summer was to be able to teach and even talk with kids, without having to freak out and collect myself before doing so. Another goal was to be able to show my colors, not only in my artwork, poetry, and songs, but around interns, and even volunteers. I believe I achieved these goals pretty well! It's sad to see this summer ending so soon, but this experience will last for a eternity.
