Crystals Galore

Today we created some amazing crystals. We did this using the "Ultimate Crystal Growing Kit". From this kit we created four types of crystals, the Thirsty Crystal, Sapphire Sparkler, the Crystal Cactus, and the Brilliant Blue Geode. All these crystals were fasinating but the Thirsty Crystal truly caught my eye.

The Thirsty Crystal was created in mere minutes. It took only the few ingredient which where, warm water, food coloring and sodium acetate. the first step in creating the crystal was to put 80ml of warm water in a clear plastic cup. then we had chosen to desire color of the food coloring. After we poured the 80ml of warm water in to the clear plastic cup, then we put one drop of the food coloring and stirred the mixture. After that we added the sodium acetate to the mixture. And we left it to sit in the window sill for an hour. We got up to observe what happen in that hour and saw that the sodium soaked up the water and became squishy which felt amazing.
